Digital democracy is the way forward, the internet is used more and more in society today, this would be the next logical step.

Computers and the internet must be used to greatest effect in all walks of life, but especially in an age where MPs’ claim huge expenses to have two homes, just to be close to parliament.

Freeing up MPs’ time to spend with their constituents, and engaging the public, would be a better use of taxpayers money. Having contacted my local MP without any response, I feel very detached from the whole process.

mySociety is asking for ideas for new projects, various ideas have surfaced, however I believe ones close to taxpayers hearts would be:

Online Parliament to reduce MPs’ need to have second home.

Full online public access to MPs’ expenses.

Published interests of MPs’ such as shareholdings, directorships & second jobs.

A way to create more public interest, involvement in politics.
